Vital Cancer Equipment Needed Now

Given our ongoing commitment to serving cancer patients, we are constantly in need of essential equipment. We kindly seek assistance or donations to fulfill these requirements.

Linear Accelerator

A linear accelerator (linac) is a vital tool in cancer treatment, delivering precise and customizable high-energy X-rays or electrons to destroy cancer cells. Its features include precision targeting, customizable treatment plans, image guidance for accuracy, and rapid delivery. Linacs contribute significantly to effective and efficient radiation therapy, minimizing side effects and improving patient outcomes.

CT Scan

A CT scan can show detailed images of any part of the body, including the bones, muscles, organs and blood vessels. CT scans can also be used for fluid or tissue biopsies, or as part of preparation for surgery or treatment.

Digital Memographic Machine

Digital mammography is an advanced form of screening that offers detection of breast disease secondary to improved efficiency of absorption of x-ray photons, greater contrast resolution over a larger dynamic range, especially in dense breast tissue and electronic archiving of breast studies

ECG Machine

An ECG machine, or electrocardiogram machine, is a crucial medical device used to record and analyze the electrical activity of the heart. It aids in diagnosing various cardiac conditions by providing valuable insights into the heart's rhythm and detecting abnormalities, enabling timely intervention and patient care.

Cobalt Therapy

Cobalt therapy, using cobalt-60, is a radiation treatment for cancer that damages cancer cells' DNA with gamma rays. It's delivered via a machine called a cobalt machine, targeting tumors with precise doses of radiation. Though older, it remains relevant, especially where advanced radiation therapy isn't readily available.

PET Scan

A Positron Emission Tomography (PET) scan is a medical imaging technique utilizing a radioactive glucose tracer to detect cancer. Cancer cells, being more metabolically active, absorb the tracer, enabling the PET scanner to create detailed images. PET scans aid in cancer diagnosis, staging, and treatment monitoring by revealing tumor location, size, malignancy, and assessing treatment effectiveness. The functional information provided by PET scans complements structural data from CT or MRI scans. While exposing patients to some radiation, the benefits in early cancer detection and treatment guidance generally outweigh the risks. Personalized medical advice should be sought from healthcare providers.

Ambulance

Ambulances are crucial in cancer hospitals for swift and safe patient transport. In emergencies or during treatments, ambulances ensure timely access to medical care, reducing critical delays. Specially equipped ambulances accommodate patients undergoing cancer therapies, contributing significantly to their well-being and improving overall treatment outcomes in these specialized healthcare facilities.
